I was stuck on my times tables And was feelin' kind of low, I decided to ask my buddy "6", I knew that he would know. You see "6" is pretty smart But he likes to play this game, If you want his advice you've got to pay the price And figure out his name. Everyday his name changes And nobody really knows why, But you times his name by the number on his shirt And for a day that's what he goes by. Hey "6"! What's your number? Times 2, that makes 12, Hey "6"! What's your number? Times 3, 18 and well, Hey "6"! What's your number? Times 4, you're 24, Hey "6"! What's your number? Times 5, 30 for sure. On his shirt 5 was his number Which made me think awhile, Then I turned and said "Hello, 30" He answered with a smile. Got lucky with my answer, Must be an easier way, I knew somehow that "6" would know, He got asked this every day. Hey "6"! What's your number? Times 6, you're 36, Hey "6"! What's your number? Times 7, 42 sticks, Hey "6"! What's your number? Times 8, you're 48, Hey "6"! What's your number? Times 9, 54 straight. So I told him 'bout my problem, How I was stuck on my 6 times table, So naturally I though of him For help if he was able. He gave me a pencil and paper, Said, "Boy I'm glad you came", "You want to know the tricks, ask your buddy "6", That's how I got my name". Hey "6"! What's your number? Times 10, 60 clicks, Hey "6"! What's your number? Times 11, you're 66, Hey "6"! What's your number? Times 12, 72 kicks, Hey "6"! What's your number? Times 1, you're just plain 6. So I wrote the 6 times tables And we rhymed all the answers, Then he told me to think of the room As if it were full of dancers. We began to make a rhythm With our hands, mouths and feet, Then he told me to sing what I had written down, And I'd have the 6's beat. 6 times 2, that makes 12, 6 times 3, 18 and well, 6 times 4, is 24, 6 times 5, is 30 for sure, 6 times 6, is 36, 6 times 7, is 42 sticks, 6 times 8, is 48, 6 times 9, is 54 straight, 6 times 10, is 60 clicks, 6 times 11, is 66, 6 times 12, is 72 kicks, 6 times 1, is just plain 6. So that's all there is to it, Just sing and rhyme and rap, The next time you need to multiply, You'll have it in a snap. Hey "6", what's your number... Hey "6", what's your number... Hey "6", what's your number... Hey "6", what's your number... Hey "6", what's your number... Hey "6"!
